This book is both the documentation of an exhibition and a manual for the design of future exhibitions in terms of guaranteeing accessibility in museums. In the exhibition described in this book, „LeibEigenschaften. Der ‘beschädigte’ Körper im Blick der Vormoderne“, scholars, designers, and curators worked together in order to make a historical topic accessible to the general public, to everybody. The papers of this book, written by authors with various backgrounds – scholars, museum professionals, and officials from organisations for the disabled –, share their experiences in the making of this exhibition, in the step-by-step process on the way to accessibility, and offer practical advice for future projecs.
