Hermann Hirschfeld\u2019s medical field was bathing and brine cures, which he used to treat his patients, who travelled from far and wide, using a modern, holistic approach. He made a significant contribution to the transformation of the Prussian fortress town of Kolberg into a Norderney of the Baltic Sea. In gratitude for Hirschfeld\u2019s work, the city of Kolberg erected a monument to him after his death, which was destroyed during the Nazi era. In addition to his biography, Hirschfeld\u2019s description of bath and brine therapies is also reproduced here.
